I'm trying to create Samsung account pass key but it is taking longer on processing I ended up canceling the process. What might be the issue and how to encounter it

Why It Gets Stuck

1. Samsung Server Delay / High Traffic

Passkey creation relies on Samsung’s authentication servers. When the servers lag (especially after major updates), it can stay stuck on “processing.”

2. Outdated Samsung Account App / System WebView

Passkeys use WebView to authenticate. If it’s outdated or corrupted, the process hangs.

3. Network Issues

Weak Wi-Fi or switching between mobile data and Wi-Fi during the process causes timeouts.

4. Passkey Not Supported for Certain Accounts

Some older Samsung accounts need verification upgrades before allowing passkey setup.

5. Security App Conflict

If you use antivirus, VPN, or AdGuard, they can block the authentication flow.

How to Fix It

1. Update the Required Apps

Update these (VERY important):

Samsung Account

Samsung Pass / Wallet

Android System WebView

Samsung Internet (passkeys sometimes open inside it)


Goto: Settings → Apps → Search → “Android System WebView” → Update

2. Clear Cache of Samsung Account

1. Settings → Apps


2. Search Samsung Account


3. Tap Storage


4. Press Clear Cache
(Do NOT clear data.)

3. Clear Cache of Google Play Services (Passkey backend)

1. Settings → Apps → Google Play Services


2. Storage → Clear Cache

4. Try Creating the Passkey in a Browser Instead

Open Samsung account website in Samsung Internet or Chrome: Settings → Samsung account → Security & privacy → Passkeys

Sometimes the app freezes but browser works.

5. Disable VPN / Battery Saver / AdBlockers

These can interrupt the secure connection.

6. Switch the Network

Try:

Turning Wi-Fi off → use mobile data
OR

Use a different Wi-Fi network


Passkeys need a stable internet handshake.

7. Restart the Phone

A simple reboot clears authentication sessions that may be stuck.

If still not working

Samsung's Passkey rollout is still glitchy for some regions. You can also try:

Remove and Re-add Samsung Account (Safe)

(Settings → Accounts → Samsung Account → Remove → Re-add)

This does NOT delete your data.
