In need of some assistance here. My Samsung Galaxy S23+ is giving me an absolute headache when it comes to scanning documents. No matter what I try, the top half of the scanned documents always turns out blurry. I've gone as far as resetting the settings and updating the software, but nothing seems to fix this infuriating issue. Here's the kicker: I can effortlessly snap the same pictures on an S10+ and S20+ without any trouble at all.

And here's the real kicker: even when I painstakingly focus on a specific spot to capture the picture, the camera decides to play games and shifts the focus, leaving other parts of the image annoyingly blurry. Frustrating to experience this on a flagship device like the S23+

If anyone has encountered and conquered this problem, please share your wisdom as I am at my wit's end.

I have tried that. The option is already disabled. Issue still persists.

Just to add on, while you tried the manual focus option, post locking the focus, was the document you were trying to scan also kept flat, to ensure that it was all on the same focal plane?

Edit; Just noticed the bit that the same photo was captured without issues on other phone, so not sure if my suggestion above would be completely relevant, but still worth a try 👍🏼

Yes. I've tried to scan many ID cards as I need to submit them for work. I used the exact same position. It works for my old Samsung galaxy S10+ but the one with s23+ came out blurry in the same spot. Can't share those documents here due to confidentiality. I'm just confused why it take so much more effort and time on a new phone Vs a 4 year old phone to scan simple documents 😭

I think what you can do is try to enable the focus enhancer and that should solve the problem if you use the main camera (not wide and not close)
2ndly what you can do is to take a picture and crop instead of scanning a document
Hope that helps

Yes I'm using the main camera. Don't think the focus enhancer is making any difference. 😕
The cropping bit isn't a viable option specially if it's a bigger document as that would mean I need to click the picture from a distance and that would make the quality suffer. Don't have the patience to sit and do this for all the documents I have to scan. Thank you anyway.. :)
