Galaxy S22 One UI 8.0 – System UI not responding, auto restart issue

Hi everyone,

I am using Samsung Galaxy S22 (SM-S901E).
After updating to One UI 8.0, my phone frequently hangs and
automatically restarts when viewing WhatsApp status, Instagram reels,
LinkedIn, or videos.

I often get “System UI isn’t responding” error.
Safe Mode works perfectly.
Issue started only after One UI 8 update.

I have already submitted error reports and system logs via
Samsung Members, but the issue is still happening.

Is anyone else facing the same problem on Galaxy S22 / One UI 8?
Any official update or fix?

It happened on one ui 8. Then it stopped on November security update

Good to know it stopped after the November security update.

I’m also facing this issue on Galaxy S22 with One UI 8.
Safe Mode works fine, but normal use with videos causes restart.
I’ve submitted error reports and logs via Samsung Members.

Hope Samsung releases the fix update for all devices soon. 👍

Sometimes the phone gets warm during normal use.
But when this issue happens (hang + auto restart),
there is no heavy overheating.

The restart mainly occurs during media playback
(WhatsApp status, Instagram, videos).

Safe Mode works fine.
Storage is also not full (around 14 GB free).

So this doesn’t seem like a heating or storage issue.
Looks like a One UI 8 software-related problem.

Today evening while using the phone, the issue became worse.

The phone restarts automatically and shows multiple errors:
- "Samsung Wallet has stopped"
- "Samsung Watch4 / Wearable app has stopped"
- "System UI has stopped"

These errors appear frequently, and the phone restarts after that.
Now the device is very difficult to use.

This started after the One UI 8 update.
Safe Mode works normally.

This looks like a serious One UI 8 software stability issue,
possibly related to system apps crashing together.

Hi, it’s not resolved yet.
I’m also on Galaxy S22 (One UI 😎 facing frequent hang and auto restart.
Safe Mode works fine.
Samsung Members moderator confirmed escalation to technical team.
Looks like a One UI 8 issue affecting multiple S22 devices.
