Has anyone elses s21 start lagging after the last update.
The whole phones has been slow.
Could this be a bug in the update?
If it is, how can it be fixed ?

Hi this happens after updates.
But in order to help with lagging of your device do the following:
Turn off adaptive battery
Go to settings and select system apps>One ui home and unrestrict battery.Do the same with system UI and Android system
Go to your setting and select performance profile if your flagship device has the option.
Lastly restart your device after applying changes.

Note your battery will drain quicker cause your phone will run on raw power meaning smoother and faster performance.

This worked for me and I have a budget device Galaxy A13

And rember to restart your phone atleast one or 2 times a week

Hey,

I am experiencing the same issue with my S21+. I tried the suggestion from outcast1 now, let's see how it works.

I would appreciate other suggestions too, cause it's not really the best option to unrestrict the battery use. It means that the battery will run out of life faster and the battery is already quick to die since all the other updates this year.

Let's hope Samsung will fix this...

Well unfortunately if you want a phone that does not lag unrestricting the battery usage of system apps is the only way and switching off adaptive battery.

Its your choice longer baterry life or better performance. You cant get both

What I meant is - when you buy a new Samsung you don't need to set those apps to unrestricting battery usage, because the phone is not lagging. So yes, you can have both - fast performance and long battery life - with a new phone. Due to several updates this year, the older phones became slower and slower in general. I know that's normal for an "older" phone, but it's still sad to see that this way you kind of get forced to buy a new phone if you want to have both (fast performance and good battery life). Especially considering the price of a Samsung phone. It makes you rethink your brand choice, cause if you need to change your phone every 2-3 years, it's best to use a different brand that's cheaper, where a phone change won't be noticed that much budget-wise.

What you are saying is not practical cause a phone does not stay new and there are phones that lag even after purchase. And also you are not really getting the point, such as phones come out of the box with settings thats due to make the phone lag this might not be noticeable upon purchase but in the long run it will become a problem such as these members are experiencing. An example is adaptive battery which automatically on upon purchase. So lagging is inevitable and changing these settings is a must if you dont want a slow and lagging phone. And changing these settings upon purchase is beneficial and besides the battery drain is net even so much unless you are a heavy gamer.
My phone still lasts a full day with system settings unrestricted

Yeah, looks like we are not talking about the same thing. I'm talking about the fact, that I expect my Samsung phone (for which I bought a lot of money) to have a fast performance and long battery life, even after years. If I can't have both, due to new updates, I will eventually change to a brand that is cheaper, where I can easily buy a new phone every year. But it all depends on the needs of each user. The priorities in a phone differ from person to person, so there are probably a lot of opinions about that. Have a nice day :)
