Unrelated question, what is the effect of good lock app and addons on battery life?

There are so many old posts that are pinned and always appear on top in this forum. Worst part is 75% of first page is full of them.

How can we unpin or remove that so we get fresh one on top? 

We have seen those multiple times and should be removed. There must be guideline to keep it pin only for some time like a week or a month. Not forever.
