j7 pro also has a 2017 variant, which acutally is better than 2018 variant in terms of power, sensors and build quality and it supports android 9 pie

s7 edge can support pie physically, i have done research and its processor is more than capable of handling android 9 pie, the real issue is that its a relatively old device and samsung wants to shift users' focus to newer devices and thats totally understandable for me
