Galaxy SThank you for contacting us.
Please note that the Galaxy Buds 3 Pro cannot ring while they are inside the charging case. The “Find My Earbuds” feature works only when the earbuds are outside the case and connected, because the buds must be powered on to play the sound.
When the earbuds are inside the case with the lid closed, they stay in a low‑power state and cannot emit sound or connect to the phone.
To avoid losing them in the future, we recommend the following:
- Use SmartThings Find to check the last known location of the earbuds before they were disconnected.
- Open the Buds case next time before using “Find My Earbuds” so the connection can be established.
If you need any further help, feel free to reach out.

Galaxy SThank you for sharing your comment with us, and we appreciate your clarification.
To confirm, the Galaxy Buds 3 Pro cannot play a ringing sound while they are inside the charging case, as the earbuds remain in a low‑power state and cannot emit audio. However, you are correct that the SmartThings “Search Nearby” feature can still detect proximity of the buds even when they are in the case, as long as the phone is within range. This helps identify whether the earbuds are nearby, but it will not activate the ringing sound until the buds are removed from the case and powered on.
Your input is valuable, and we thank you for highlighting your experience with the feature. If you need any further assistance, we are always here to help.
