I am using s10. I am noticing that if I use 2 sim battery is draining a bit fast. I had to charge the device twice daily.  Doesn't this affect the battery life span of the device?

Use your main sim 4g mode
And use your another sim at 2g

Thats fine but I won't get volte if I keep it at 2g

Keep your main sim at 4g then you will get volte at 4g and you can use volte in a device in 1 sim at a time

This cannot be due to SIM problem but background ops of apps. Check battery use of apps. Try switching off internet at night.

Oh k what's the average life span of a battery before it needs to get replaced.

Battery life depends on usage and no. Of cycles we charge. For better life charge between 20 to 80 % the cycle will be 0.21% and will increase the life of battery.
