Based on the screenshot, you are seeing a system error related to a background process called Desktop Mode Visual Indicator. This usually happens when a core system component (or a feature hidden in Developer Options) becomes unstable after an Android update.
Since your screen isn't responding to touches, we need to bypass the UI to fix it. Here is how to resolve this:
Step 1: Perform a Force Restart
The most immediate way to regain control of your touch screen is a forced reboot.
Press and hold the Volume Down and Power buttons simultaneously for about 7–10 seconds. The device should vibrate and restart. This often clears the temporary "freeze" caused by that pop-up. Step 2: Disable Desktop Mode (If accessible)
The error mentions "Desktop Mode." This is often a hidden feature in Developer Options. Once your phone restarts and the screen works:
Go to Settings > Developer Options. Search for Force desktop mode or Desktop Mode. Ensure it is toggled OFF. If you don't use Developer Options, you can simply toggle the main "Developer Options" switch to OFF at the very top of that menu. Step 3: Update System Apps
Since you are on the latest One UI, some Samsung-specific background services might need an individual update through the Galaxy Store rather than the Play Store.
Open the Galaxy Store. Tap Menu > Updates. Select Update all. Step 4: Clear System Cache (If the problem persists)
If the pop-up keeps returning, there may be "junk" files left over from your recent Android update.
Turn your phone off. Connect it to a PC or Mac via a USB cable (this is required for some One UI versions to enter Recovery). Press and hold Volume Up + Power until the Samsung logo appears. Use volume buttons to highlight Wipe Cache Partition and the Power button to select it. Once done, select Reboot system now.
Note: This error is rarely caused by a virus; it is almost always a compatibility glitch between the Android OS and Samsung's "Desktop" (DeX) background services.

Galaxy SThank you for reaching out. We understand that your Galaxy S series home screen is not responding to touches and you are receiving a persistent pop-up message.
This issue is usually caused by a temporary conflict in the "One UI Home" system service. Please follow these steps to resolve it:
- Forced Restart: Since the screen is unresponsive, press and hold the Volume Down and Power buttons simultaneously for 7 to 10 seconds until the Samsung logo appears. This will force the system to refresh.
- Clear One UI Home Cache: Once the device restarts, go to Settings > Apps. Tap the "Sort" icon (next to 'Your apps') and toggle on "Show system apps." Search for One UI Home, select Storage, and tap "Clear Cache."
- Update System Apps: Open the Galaxy Store, go to Menu > Updates, and install any pending updates for "One UI Home" or "Samsung System" components to ensure compatibility with your current software.
- Check in Safe Mode: If the pop-up returns, restart your device and hold the Volume Down button during the boot-up animation to enter Safe Mode. If the issue disappears in this mode, it confirms a recently installed third-party app is causing the conflict.
If the screen remains unresponsive after a forced restart, we recommend visiting an authorized Service Center for a hardware diagnostic: https://www.samsung.com/ae/support/service-center/
Samsung Gulf Customer Service provides various service locations in form of Authorized Service Centers, Quick Repair Shops, or Customer Service Plazas. It caters repair and support for all Consumer products of Samsung like Refrigerator, AC, washing machine, dishwasher, dryer, microwave, vacuum ...
