I recently updated my phone to OneUI 3.0 but I noticed that the “Change Icon Shape” has been removed from the Developer Options settings.

Before updating my phone, I changed the icon shape to square to try out but then decided I want to change back to default. I planned to change it after updating my phone to see all the new UI changes.

Now I am stuck with these square icons and I have not been able to find other settings or info online on how to change back to default. I would rather not have to reset my phone to factory settings just to fix this simple issue.

Update: I have done “Reset All Settings” but even that has not changed the icons back to default shape.

Device: Samsung S10e

OS version: OneUI 3.0

Did you check Beta instructions?
Is there way to roll back to normal without reset or flashing ?

If not then you have to take full backup and restore

I am not sure how to do a roll back to the previous version, to be honest.

This is such a silly annoying issue. I mean if they were going to remove the option to change icon shape, updating to the new version should just reset the icons to default.

I have done Reset All Settings to default and that has not fixed the issue.

Icons are still square even after reset.

I know, this is very annoying...
Best option ditch One UI every version is repulsive...
I use nova launcher now
even raised a few other issues to support...no effect
icons are annoying and not legible...
one has to look hard to make sure if it is the right app opening up
lock screen always on display doesn't rotate...so you can't use the phone in car nav
widget fonts are too small
on version 2.5 gestures don't work if you get third party home launcher
but since this works now I can atleast ditch one UI... previously I used to use Navigation Gestures from XDA for gestures too.

I have found the solution! Go into an ADB shell and do cmd overlay disable {overlay_name}.For the full list of overlay names go here. For example, to disable teardrop icons do cmd overlay disable com.android.theme.icon.teardrop. Or for squircle do cmd overlay disable com.android.theme.icon.squircleThe same commands work for enabling, just change disable to enable.
