Samsung recently confirmed that it’s working on One UI 2.1 for existing flagships like the Galaxy S10 and the Galaxy Note 10. This wasn’t surprising as Samsung’s new flagship series come with the latest iteration of One UI that eventually makes its way to other devices as well.

However, it seems that Galaxy S10 and Galaxy Note 10 owners may not have to wait until One UI 2.1 is released to get the new features that are part and parcel of this update. Samsung today confirmed that it’s going to bring all of the best Galaxy S20 features to the Galaxy S10 and Galaxy Note 10 soon.

Galaxy S20’s best features coming to existing flagships

Samsung was always going to bring the Galaxy S20’s best features to other devices, it was only a matter of when it got around to doing that. Samsung Netherlands sent out a press release today to confirm that all of the best Galaxy S20 features will be released for the Galaxy S10 and Galaxy Note 10 via a software update at the end of this month.

The features will include Single Take, a new camera mode that Samsung introduced with the Galaxy S20. It has become quite popular since it lets you effortlessly capture the perfect moment. Single Take can capture a mix of ten photos and four videos so you can choose which ones you’d want to keep and share, instead of having to decide whether to take a photo or record a video of the moment.

Pro Mode for Video will also be coming to existing flagships. It will allow you to adjust shutter speed, ISO and exposure for videos. The ability to switch between the front and rear cameras while a video is recording will also be brought over. This will be a very useful feature for those who tend to vlog with their smartphones.

This software update will bring some of the other best Galaxy S20 features as well. Quick Crop will let you easily cut images exactly to the size you want. Clean View will bring all photos of the same subject together automatically while Bixby Integration will let you create albums with voice commands.

Quick Share, Samsung’s AirDrop alternative, is headed to the Galaxy S10 and Galaxy Note 10 as well. It lets you share photos, videos and large files directly with multiple people around you. Music Share will enable you to share your phone’s Bluetooth connection to a speaker so that you don’t have to disconnect before your friends can play music. They can just piggyback off of your phone’s Bluetooth connection to the speaker.

It seems Samsung is doing the same thing it did last year when it rolled out the Galaxy Note 10’s features to the Galaxy S10. The Galaxy Note 10 came with One UI 1.5 yet all of its features were released for the Galaxy S10 while it was still on One UI 1.1 through a software update. So while One UI 2.1 will arrive for existing flagships in due course, we’ll be able to take advantage of all of these best Galaxy S20 features on our 2019 flagships in just about a week from now.
