I recently received the S24 from my insurance after losing my S23, but I'm having a major issue with the battery draining way too fast. I'm no battery expert, but how is it possible for the phone to lose 27% of its battery in just 3 hours and 36 minutes, with 2 hours and 48 minutes of that being off screen time? I just need to figure out if this is from a defective batch because this doesn't seem normal. I don't have any battery-draining apps installed.

It does seem unusual for your Galaxy S24 to lose so much battery with minimal screen-on time. This could be caused by several factors, including background processes, connectivity issues, or a faulty battery.

Hi, Some apps may continue to run in the background even when not actively in use. You can check this in Settings > Apps and disable unnecessary background apps.

Try enabling Power Saving Mode (Settings > Battery) to limit power consumption.

Poor network signals or constant switching between Wi-Fi and mobile data can drain the battery. Try turning off unnecessary connectivity like Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, or mobile data when not needed.

Sometimes a battery can misreport its charge due to calibration issues. You can try draining the battery completely and then charging it to 100% without interruptions.

There's a chance that the battery itself is defective, especially if this behavior is consistent and not linked to any app or system activity. If the phone is still under warranty, you might want to reach out to Samsung support to check the health of the battery.

That's how new phones are. It is learning your user patterns. It will be good in a couple of weeks. Also, make sure that you are always connected to the Wifi. 5G drains a lot of battery. Also, turn off AOD. Otherwise, it will be better as time goes on.
