Is it just me or the battery is really draining pretty fast after the update?

You're not alone. Many users have reported faster battery drain after updating to Samsung One UI 7 (based on Android 14). This can happen due to background processes, optimization delays, or app compatibility issues. Here's how to fix or reduce battery drain:

Quick Fixes:

Restart your phone
Sounds basic, but a restart often helps background processes settle post-update.

Clear cache partition
This can fix issues without deleting personal data.

Power off your phone. Hold Power + Volume Up until the Samsung logo appears. Use volume buttons to navigate to "Wipe cache partition," and confirm with Power. Reboot when done.

Check battery usage

Go to Settings > Battery > Usage since last full charge. Identify any app that's unusually high. Force stop or uninstall/update it. Settings Tweaks:

Enable Adaptive Battery & Power Saving

Settings > Battery > More battery settings > Adaptive Battery Turn on Power Saving Mode if needed (customize it to still allow notifications).

Turn off Always-On Display, 5G, or high refresh rate if not needed:

AOD: Settings > Lock Screen > Always On Display 5G: Settings > Connections > Mobile Networks > Network Mode Refresh rate: Settings > Display > Motion smoothness

Put unused apps to sleep

Settings > Battery > Background usage limits Advanced Tips:

Update all apps
App incompatibility after an OS update often causes wakelocks (background battery drain).

Open Galaxy Store and Play Store, update all.

Battery Calibration (optional)
Let the phone drain completely to 0%, charge to 100% in one go, then restart. Do this once after a major update to reset battery stats.

Wait a few days
Post-update, Android reindexes files and learns battery usage, which may drain power for 1–3 days before settling.

If it still drains heavily after a week, consider a factory reset (after backup), or contact Samsung Members app support for diagnostics—they might patch it soon.

Would you like me to check if there's any current patch/fix released for your specific model?

S24 Ultra here, bought this phone 10-15 days ago. Updated to One UI 7.0 and Android 15 after setting up the necessaries. Crazy battery drain. The battery drain is worse than my 3-4 years old heavily used S21 Ultra.
Every activity i do reduces battery so quickly. I even tested it side by side with my previous phone.
Only the performance and the refresh rate and other things are great, but the phone drains battery so fast, it heats up, etc.
Will the above work? Or should I go back to the place I bought the device from? Or should I contact Samsung tech. support team?

Clearly it's an issue of One UI 7.0, I think it would be even worse if I updated my S21U to one ui 7 (if there is an update)

Even me have similar issues on my S23 Ultra after update to One Ui7. Now I need to charge the device by noon time again in the evening. One Ui6.1 the battery would last from 100% to 30% by evening time. Not sure what's going on
