I am.sure he must have opted out but the handset is stuck else no way he will get stable version. Beta is 3.2 gb

quite possible. wikipedia says one ui was officially released on 17th October for S22 series and Flip/Fold 4. Can anyone else try and un-enroll out of beta and then check for update?

It's a beta update with all the patches till now hence 3.2gb, since you are on Android 12 it's asking for beta update again
