Galaxy SThis error usually isn’t about One UI 8 itself, but more about a connection, cache, or region/carrier issue. Since you're getting “network or server error” consistently, try the following steps:
1. Check basics first
- Switch between WiFi and mobile data
- Turn off VPN (if you’re using one)
- Restart your device
2- Clear Software Update cache
- Go to Settings > Apps > (⋮) Show system apps
- Find Software Update
- Tap Storage > Clear Cache + Clear Data
- Restart the phone and try again
3- Reset network settings
- Settings > General Management > Reset > Reset Network Settings
(This fixes hidden network conflicts)
4- Check date & time
- Make sure it's on Automatic (incorrect time can block updates)
5- Region / CSC issue (very common) If your device is imported or using a different region firmware, updates may not push properly. In this case:
- Updates may arrive late
- Or fail with server errors like you're seeing.
6- Try Smart Switch (important step)
- Install Samsung Smart Switch on a PC/Mac
- Connect your phone via cable
- It may detect and install the update even if OTA fails
7- Last option If nothing works, you may need:
- A firmware reflash (official)
- Or visit a Samsung service center
Also note: One UI 8 rollout is gradual, so not all S24 Ultra devices get it at the same time depending on region/carrier.
If you want, share your model number (e.g., S928B / S928U) and I can tell you if the update is available for your specific variant.
Hope this helps 👍✅️

Galaxy SThank you for contacting Samsung Gulf Electronics.
We understand your concern regarding the inability to download software updates on your Galaxy S24 Ultra even after trying the troubleshooting steps.
Based on the provided model (SM-S928U/DS), please note that this is not a Middle East (GCC) version, and software updates depend on the original region/carrier of the device. This may cause delays or errors such as “network or server error” when checking for updates outside the original region.
Kindly ensure the following:
- Use a SIM card from the original region of the device (if available).
- Avoid using VPN services while checking for updates.
- Try updating again using Smart Switch on a PC.
If the issue still persists, a software reinstallation with the correct regional firmware may be required. Kindly visit the nearest service center for further assistance:
