what capacity of pendrive do u need for backup? I mean if your phone has 24GB of data, do u need a 24GB pendrive, or is your data compressed while being backed up??

not compressed, you have to take backup with sufficient storage

you can protect the data with password while take backup, and when you restore then it will need that password

i already mentioned in my previous comments dear but anyway

settings >account and backup >backup and restore > click on last option> then you will redirect to another page when you will get> received/ send data> click on send data and follows as instructions
and if you are talking about password protected then click on 3 dot at right top corner there you will find to set password
