Hi, You can view the recently added contacts right from the "contacts" app itself. Please note that, to get the complete features of the app, you have to open it from the appscreen itslef (menu). Contacts opened through "Phone" app will have only limited resources. Thank you.
Your Suggestion was indeed appreciable too. I think currently there is no such inbuilt option available. You may have to rely upon third party apps (just search 'recent contacts' in google play, you can see widgets also). But I suggest you to create a habit of adding to contact groups, at the time of saving contacts itself. You can then easily sort the contacts based on groups anytime.
