Exynos 990 vs Snapdragon 865 was bad, 990 vs 865+ will be worseThe Exynos 990 decision has the potential to destroy Galaxy Note 20 sales. Customers in the vast majority of markets would get the Exynos variant. The debacle with the Galaxy S20 series has already set a bad precedent. If they see that instead of making amends Samsung is doubling down, it would feel like a complete disregard for the customer. Remember, the Exynos 990 vs Snapdragon 865 issue got a lot more coverage this year. The issue is still fresh in customers’ minds and that would be one of the things they seek clarity on before deciding whether or not they want to spend north of $1,000 on a Galaxy Note 20 handset.
I’ve had every Note (with exception of the exploding Note 7 and the Note 5 which never came to Europe) – and this news is just depressing. If Samsung doesn’t give the consumers a choice in which processor they purchase, then they will lose many dedicated and long standing fans of the Note series. It’s really a shame how corporate politics plays over consumer demand . . . All I can say is, if Samsung releases the Exynos 990 in Europe without an option for the 865+, they will lose sales – and especially my hard earned money!
