In the Galaxy S20 tests, Samsung uses the Exynos 990 from its own production in all regions outside the USA, China and South Korea. But the Snapdragon 865 from Qualcomm is in use in the three countries. Comparisons show that the Exynos 990 is inferior to the Snapdragon 865 in almost all performance tests. In addition, it has a higher power consumption. This is why the Galaxy S20 with Exynos 990 have a shorter battery life than the models with Snapdragon 865.
Exynos 992 on the Galaxy Note 20: 6 nm manufacturing for more power and less consumption
For this reason, an improved Exynos 990 is to be used in the Galaxy Note 20. Samsung will introduce it as the Exynos 992. While the Exynos 990 is manufactured by Samsung Semiconductor in the 7-nm EUV process, the Exynos 992 should use a 6-nm manufacturing technology. This should also reduce power consumption. According to previous rumors, the performance of the Exynos 992 could be between one and three percent above that of the Snapdragon 865.
According to rumors, Samsung will also consider using the company’s SoC in its home country instead of Qualcomm chips. However, this could also be due to the fact that Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 865+; originally planned for the third quarter of 2020; should not be available this year and could no longer be available in time for the Samsung Galaxy Note 20. For this reason, the manufacturer Vivo should rely on the Exynos 992 for its flagship smartphone at the end of this year.
Last year, Samsung used the Exynos 9825 in the Galaxy Note 10. While the Galaxy S10 used the 9820; With 7 nm instead of 8 nm and clocks a little faster on some of the cores. Instead of relying on the Snapdragon 855+ in the USA; the Snapdragon 855 was still in use in the Galaxy Note 10. Samsung could also do a similar thing with the Galaxy Note 20.

I have a s10 , one with exynos. the performance is rubbish, there are heating issues and more. I ll never ever buy a Samsung flagship if it doesn't offer the best Snapdragon chip.
