Phone is getting hot during use

So, my note 20 has being getting pretty hot, particularly when I play games (not for long periods of time), as of late. Any suggestions on how to fix this or what is causing this?

Try optimising your device in settings>device care and clear recents apps before playing. Also set your phone to auto restart itself once or twice every week.

I have the same problem.
I only use maps, music and whattsapp.
I don't play games on my device

I don't have the phone plugged in for charge all the time.i run the batteries low
