The finger print sensor in my new Note 9 is not so accurate and sometimes not working, my old S7 Edge used to work very nice

- Navigate to apps >> Settings >> Apps >> Tap on three dots >> Reset app preferences.
- Please run your device in safe mode. In safe mode, kindly register your finger and check for the same.
- Please do reset your device on factory mode after taking the data backup Via Smart switch and remove the Google account from your device.
- If still issue persists, kindly visit to nearby Samsung service center in order to get your device physically inspected by the service engineer. Please find service center details in the link provided -http://www.samsung.com/in/support/servicelocation
