I recently bought a Note 10 lite, and noticed the tilt sensor of my S-Pen only works in diagonal strokes. As you can see in this video: https://youtu.be/9LYhYdq8vJM). It is inconsistent throughout the screen.

I've stumbled upon an app called Stylusis
that shows raw sensor data and noticed the tilt / orientation turns in the opposite direction of the pen as you can see in this video https://youtu.be/46ZJ1y-pkX4.

I've talked to other Note 10 Lite users that reported the same issue. One person went to a Samsung Retail Store and checked all the Note devices available (including Note 20 Ultra) and reported that only the  Note 10 Lite has this issue.

Could this be related to software? Or is it a project flaw with the Note 10 Lite S-Pen or Digitizer? Can this be fixed?

I've bought this model specifically to draw. I'm really disappointed. :(

Exact same issue on the Tab S6 Lite. Hope they can address this in future system updates.

Aw, man. That's not good news. I'm currently struggling with their Customer Service, trying to get it fixed, but the tech support guy said there was nothing he could do about it.

My device also has some nasty spots in which the pen pressure goes to zero with the pen even slightly tilted (which is how a human being would hold a pen in normal conditions). And some distortions around the screen edges. Here're some videos https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9A1UxPyakDs and https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qVxOX6FPF1A

Does your tab have that too? Maybe that's related to the tilt problem.

Re: dead spots & distortions: no dead spots on my Tab S6 Lite, I can fill the entire bottom and sides of the screen with strokes. Distortions (it's called edge drift, a known problem with the technology) are very very minor, I had to "comb" the entire left side of the screen with strokes to find a zone of less than 1cm (about 1/4") in width in which I do see a wiggle (looks less pronounced than yours but hard to tell because your video is zoomed in on a smaller screen) happening at the very edge of the screen.

The tilt problem is there.
I hope you can get your unit replaced or fixed.

Same thing here. Tested my sisters device for drawing and noticed a strange behaviour when using digital pencils. Found out about Stylusis and confirmed that the calculations were wrong. as i was interested in buying one myself i went to a store and tested the S6Lite at display using the App Stylusis. It had the exact same miscalcukations. I hope Samsung gets this stuff corrected

An update: testing the tilt in Autodesk Sketchbook (on Tab S6 lite) it works in all directions, meaning it's a software issue not an HW one. Not intending to detract from the OP's problem just stating a correction to my previous statements. After back and forth with Pilgo I stand corrected, it's not a tilt issue but an orientation one. The orientation reported by the sensor is indeed wrong the further you rotate from Northwest/Southeast, as shown by his video.

It's not a software issue, man. It's just that some softwares / brushes don't use the orientation value of the tilt. Hell, some don't use the tilt sensor at all. For those, the pen will appear to be working as intended.

It's fairly simple to test, just download Stylusis and look at the the orientation. Here's a video of what mine looks like: https://youtu.be/46ZJ1y-pkX4
