Galaxy NoteLaser autofocus employs a small laser emitter positioned on the back of the smartphone, near the camera lens. Upon taking a photo, the sensor beams out a short laser burst which is reflected back off whatever you've been pointing your camera at. The reflected light then will be captured by the device and the time taken for reflection will be used to calculate the distance and the focus of the camera will be adjusted accordingly. This can work even in the most darkest environment as visible light is not required to focus the subject as in normal cameras.
