When Samsung revealed the Galaxy S20 series, the new smartphones subsequently make public a new version of the company’s firmware interface – One UI 2.1. This came while some devices were receiving the Android 10-based One UI 2.0 update. However, Samsung promptly started to roll out this incremental upgrade over its firmware for some devices. Now, sources that are familiar with the matter, revealed that the brand new software interface will make way to the 2018′ Galaxy S9 and Note 9 devices.

The latest update comes straight from Samsung’s Official forums for South Korea. According to a moderator, the company has reviewed the One UI 2.1 support for the aforementioned devices. Therefore an update is now in development. Previous reports were pointing that the 2018 handsets would not receive the incremental One UI firmware. While the newest update is just an incremental, it adds some interesting features to make Samsung’s proprietary software more useful.

According to the report, the OneUI 2.1 update is in development for the Galaxy S9 and Note 9. Moreover, a test build will make way for those devices pretty soon. Unfortunately, we’ll have to wait and see if this update is really dropping on these devices in the coming days. After all, while this statement is coming from a Samsung official, the start of beta testing will be a more consistent proof.
