Every year, samsung releases a new device this issue arises

it seems your device overcharging at night time if it's fast charging, of course, it will affect your battery life.

This started happening all of a sudden after the last update .it is showing samsung core service consuming battery .morover I understand all new devices having overcharging protection, which stops charging one battery, is full.

and I believe you need to optimize your device
avoid overcharging at night or use protect batter options
avoid fast charging unless it's emergency
charge your device before 20% and stop at 85%to 99
put unused apps to sleep and deep sleep mode
sure you will get a good result after two weeks, the device optimize automatically as per your usage

Try to wipe catch partitions, this should help to fix common issues after major updates.

Go to Recovery Mode and Clear Catch Partitions by following those steps:

Turn off the device.

Press and hold the Volume Up key, then press and hold the Side key.

When the Samsung logo displays, release the Side key but continue holding Volume Up.

When the Android Recovery screen appears, release Volume Up.

An 'Installing system update' message may show for 30 - 60 seconds before the Android system recovery menu options appear.

Press the Volume down key several times to highlight wipe cache partition.

Press Power key to select.

Press the Volume down key to highlight yes, them and press the Power key to select.

When the wipe cache partition is complete, Reboot system now is highlighted.

Press the Power key to restart the device
