I'm trying to figure out which contact is registered for chat messages. Like on iOS the contact turns blue. How do I check on my note whether my messages are chat messages or text? Using Samsung messages app.

If you're looking for the correct term online, it's called "RCS" (Rich Chat Service). You should go into the Message settings and check if it's connected from there.

In a new message, when you click the + to select a contact to message the ones that has Chat activated will have a blue dot next to them.

Also, in Contacts. When you open a contact, those with Chat activated will have a bright blue message icon, not the dull blue one. Sort of stupid that you cannot filter them or see it from the contact list, without having to open a contact or going into a new chat...

Oh, wait. 🤣 In the messages app, bottom right, select contacts. There you'll see them with the blue dot in list view.
