Galaxy Note
Charging speed has drastically reduced on the S22 Ultra after the One UI 8 update. best bet is to get an updated phone considering that this likely one of the last major updates for the phone.

The next one, One UI 9 is the last update for the S22 Series.
Do you have fast charging on in settings?

Hi wayne_zie
You're right to notice that. Major One UI updates—especially toward the tail end of a phone's update cycle—can sometimes affect performance, battery optimization, and charging behavior. On the S22 Ultra, a drop in charging speed after the One UI 8 update could be due to:
1. Software optimization changes – New battery management algorithms sometimes reduce charging speed to prolong long-term battery health.
2. Background processes – After an update, system apps may run extra tasks temporarily, which can slow charging.
3. Battery health – If your phone has been used for a couple of years, natural battery wear can combine with software changes to reduce charging speed.
Given that the S22 Ultra is near the end of its major update cycle, if fast charging is important to you, upgrading to a newer flagship (like the S24 series) would be a practical choice. You’ll get:
Better long-term support
Faster and more consistent charging speeds
Improved battery longevity and performance
If you want, I can outline a few ways to temporarily maximize your S22 Ultra’s charging speed before committing to a new phone. This can sometimes restore a bit of the lost speed. Do you want me to do that?
