wi fi and internet connection is not working

I am using samsung max . Samsung max provides vpn connection , I switched off vpn. After that my phone is not able to connect with Wi-Fi . Internet speed is reduced. Even after that I can only use whatsapp.  Can anyone give me the solution.

Try forgetting the network.
Then turn off the modem for 10 seconds and after that start it again and add the device to the network.
