If I update my phone M31 using Samsung smart switch will my data in the phone be deleted or not?

There is this warning to backup data, is it just there to be on safe side or will my data Will be deleted for sure?

And why is update side 4.6 GB using Samsung smart switch. It's only 1.6gb if I update using phone.

don't update using smart switch as it downloads the software OS so its of 4.6 gb as u are saying.

I have read that updating using phone, lots of bugs can occur so it's safe to update using smart switch

Download the update from phone itself and it has no problem after the update.

no...your data will not be deleted... this advisory is put only for safe updating...
No one can charge that his phone may have been the problem due to the update.
