Since the M30s doesn't have ambient light sensor. device uses front camera measure ambient light. So of you have adaptive brightness turned on device will periodically uses turns on front camera to measure brightness.

This drains lots of battery. Adaptive brightness a feature which supposed to save battery now does opposite.

This needs to be fixed as soons as possible. Users for now need to turn off adaptive brightness as work around to avoid issue.

Yes, front camera is the ambient light sensor, also I think it's not safe to let camera open in background for light sensing. It conflicts with privacy concerns. Please have a look Samsung.

Hi Samsung_dys4tCd,

Be aware, there is a difference between a camera being on for light measuring, vs one capable of image capture. If the camera was on and as you stated "...privacy concerns..."then we would see images in the Samsung Gallery, however there are not any. The camera is measuring light only, not capturing images; thus, there is not a privacy concern. One can use any camera having a built-in light meter for measuring light, checking exposure, yet not capture an image.

Cordially
