Since the M30s doesn't have ambient light sensor. device uses front camera measure ambient light. So of you have adaptive brightness turned on device will periodically uses turns on front camera to measure brightness.

This drains lots of battery. Adaptive brightness a feature which supposed to save battery now does opposite.

This needs to be fixed as soons as possible. Users for now need to turn off adaptive brightness as work around to avoid issue.

Yes, front camera is the ambient light sensor, also I think it's not safe to let camera open in background for light sensing. It conflicts with privacy concerns. Please have a look Samsung.
