One UI 8: Side Button Shortcut to Secure Folder Gets Removed When Disabled

Hi Samsung Team,

I recently updated my Galaxy M53 5G to One UI 8, and I’ve noticed a major change in how Secure Folder behaves — specifically when it’s assigned as a shortcut under a custom name.

I had renamed my Secure Folder to “Docs” for privacy reasons and assigned it to the Side Button (double press) shortcut.
Previously (on One UI 7), this worked perfectly — even if I disabled Secure Folder temporarily, the shortcut assignment stayed intact.

After the One UI 8 update:

As soon as I disable Secure Folder, the side-button shortcut to “Docs” gets unassigned or removed automatically.

When I re-enable Secure Folder, the shortcut sometimes doesn’t restore.

This change makes it obvious that “Docs” was actually a hidden Secure Folder app, which defeats the purpose of renaming it for privacy.

This behavior was not present in earlier One UI versions, and feels like a serious privacy regression.
If Secure Folder is meant to stay hidden and secure, the OS should not expose or de-link shortcuts to it when disabled.

Please confirm if this is an intended security change or a bug.
If intentional, this needs to be clearly documented — because it breaks the privacy layer for users who rely on Secure Folder aliases for discreet usage.

Device: Galaxy M53 5G
One UI version: 8.0
Android version: [insert]
Build number: [insert]

This is a genuine privacy concern and not just a cosmetic issue.
Please escalate this to the Secure Folder and Knox teams for clarification or a fix.

Thanks.
