Hi Guys! 

A member of my family  has recently  bought M31 which has a weird issue where whatsapp gives a black screen every time switched between groups and individual chats. 

Customer care has been reached several times , cleared cache, ran in safe mode, updated app and system to latest version and nothing helps. Is this a problem with the device itself ? Anyone else facing  the same problem?

there isnt any update for app and phone both, its all latest

did you tried clear cache/
if not then try
long press on WhatsApp icon >app info>storage >clear cache
i m not sure about the problem but once try these may it help

as mentioned earlier, all these options have been tried several times and none of them help.. hope it fixes soon

is this affecting only certain models then? dont see this in other Samsung phones. Do u have links to otgers reporting same issue?

bro I don't know if this issues is affected to certain devices

there are many Reviews on play store about this issue so you can also see those reviews and add your issue in Review section of play store

check if you are enrolled in whatsapp beta program

if not than remove the app and install again
