How's M01? Should I buy it for my dad? He needs basic features and a good battery, maybe view media from time to time like YouTube, Netflix etc, not that often but, pls give honest and real feedback, thanx!!

Yeah, why not.
but Netflix won't play in best quality.
Snapdragon 439 & TFT display is good to go for that price range.

Don't..
These phones aren't good at giving updates + they run on Full Android 10 + custom skin on top of it. It maybe OK for 1st few months but after that they will be slow with MIUI 12 & Realme UI 2.0

One UI 2.0 is also a custom skin (not Vanilla Android).
also M series get One UI core version which is trimmed down version of Full One UI (lacking a lot of useful features like app lock, hide files, screen recording etc)

go for it.
it may be inferior in specs when compared to Chinese brands but you will not regret after buying branded products.
for simple usage M01 will be fine.
