INS on Galaxy M31 will get faster update with proof....

INS will get faster update on M31.. On Setemper 9 2021, Security update with Samsung Pay mini (1.3 GB) was rolled on INS.... while in INU it didn't...

INU is for New Flagship Devices coming after S10 in India example is Galaxy S20, S21, M31 etc. Only One CSC is available for S20, S21 which is INU.
And S6 edge have INS and INU but S6 only have INS..

INS is used in Older models from S10 and below... example is Galaxy M30, M20 etc.

Explaining difference between INS Vs INU.
Before that i will tell the story how i found out.
I had M31 which has INS..i flashed it with android 10 with same binary version 2..i was trying to degraded to android 10 from 11.. so ended up fully bricking the phone... it couldn't turn on...i gave it to service center and they gave it to Data recovery center afterwards they said i have to replace the motherboard...the screen cost lot that i brought a new motherboard....it camed with INU which was bit sad...but i got the experience of both of them.

You could flash from INU to INS with the same version or security update..i have changed it from INU to INS afterwards.

INU is Prime Edition of M31..

DIFFERENCE MAY BE ONLY ON M31.

Difference -

1) INU is used in Samsung's newer phones and old phones also..
But more in newer phones..

2) Chances of getting more update here...

3) It camed with English UK pre installed that means that on setup up page it will show English UK just like INS version but when you select English US, the keyboard will be still in UK but you could download US version afterwards... On INS the keyboard will be changed to US just afterward when we are typing the wifi password on setup page...

4) *(Important)
INS have Byjus app, CRED Credit App, Josh...etc pre-installed... but in INU it will be Amazon Apps ( kindle, Amazon Shopping, Audio book apps etc)...

For both unwanted apps will be downloaded when connected to internet.

5) *(Important)
In INS i think it's unlocked because when i typed *#272*Your-IMEI-NUMBER# on dial pad it showed multi CSC to change from without flashing different CSC...but in INU it showed only one...
It is disappointing.. can't change to INU using this method...it excludes INU.

6) INU have swipe left to go to Amazon app on homescreen..but in case of INS it doesn't have....when you turn it off and restart the phone it turns on itself.. enabling slows the phone....

7) I think INU is for people who wants indian optimized apps and other features....and 3 months prime from Amazon.

😎 INS is Faster than INU because of Amazon homescreen swipe.

9) INS is used by more people on M31, you can check it in Samfw.com... by clicking on the update available you will see number of people who downloaded it...1:7 (INU to INS popularity ratio of M31).

10) INU has more size than compared to INS.

11) M51 has only INS as CSC...

I STAYED WITH INS....🙂

Samsung recently has a habit of locking the motherboard to newer bootloader (newer updates)
Any effort made to downgrade the software to an older version will result in bricking of the device.

This makes it impossible for users to fix issues by installing older update, when they face reboot/freeze issue after an update.
So they can exploit customers by charging money for replacement of motherboard.

Just a small correction, this isn't recent, they started this in 2014-15. And this isn't done by Samsung. This is how Android is coded. You can see some other brands where this occurs. In ones where it doesn't, the brand modifies android source code to customize it.

Not since 2014-2015, that's wrong. But from android 8 or 9 onwards.

Google may have introduced it. But few non-samsung have some way to bypass it like you said.
Samsung is always the one to do such things the most, prevent downgrades, locking the bootloader, tripping knox if any custom os is flashed etc. Why does downgrading have to get the motherboard dead ?

But here samsung is exploiting this for doing their business, if you look at recent motherboard issues. Atleast the service centre should have some way to downgrade in such cases.

I don't know or don't care why Samsung is doing this, but this is since 2014-15. You clearly didn't have or try flashing a Galaxy Note 5 or S6 with older software.

Well, then I must say samsung is a bit earlier here.
Google made it necessary only from Oreo or higher...

So clearly samsung started it before Google made this necessary.
