After restarting this mobile, the face unlocking works only a handful of times; after that, it throws up the message 'Something went wrong. Try again.' until the phone is restarted once more. How can this issue be tackled?

Try removing the Face ID in settings and then registering it again

Cleare face data and try it again. This happens some times due to some optimization issue of One UI.
It looks that it is One UI 6.1 . Am I correct?

After restart of the mobile the biometrics won't work for first unlocking. U can only unlock by password/pin, etc. After the first unlock, U can unlock ur device by biometrics.
