No sir M series doesn't support it.

Nope. Secure Folder is not available in any of the M series smartphones. Hopefully we might get it in future updates.

It's just an app and there must be no hurdle in providing it. Wonder whether it needs specialised hardware. Samsung reserves some apps for more expensive phones.

No. Who is saying it is hardware feature ? It is just knox environment to implemet. Knox implementation is extra cost hence samsung is avoiding its implementation and spreading false news that samsung devices are much secured than other brands. Hahahaha. Samsung is loosing its goodwill day by day. At least in the eyes of customers who are not blind followers of brands.
