Galaxy MWhen front camera does this virtual light sensing, camera needs to be switched on frequently, and these camera module power consumption is much more than even screen can consume which supposed to be the most power hungry component of any phone.

Galaxy MEither go for manual brightness, it will take some time for you to learn or after switching on auto brightness try adjusting it for few days, it takes some time to learn your usage pattern.
