Update on j7 max

What is the status on oreo update for j7 max, we are waiting for like a year now and you are only postponing the dates. No security updates from 6 months, if such was a case why had you given a mediatek chipset because of which it becomes difficult to update.
It was a total wrong decision to buy a mediatek device henceforth i will suggest my friends and family to not buy devices having mediatek nonsense chipsets in it. Total waste of money.
