It is September of 2016 when the j7 prime was launched with exynos 7870 processor. Which is considered as a modern processor because Samsung is using it till now. In the in the phones like J7 pro and j8 plus. Since j8 plus is 2018 model so it is eligible for pie update. But not j7 prime and pro, which uses the same processor and this proves the excellent hardware capability of j7 prime and j7 pro to support future versions of Android os. And yet the Support is ended for the devices. Forcing users to depend on custom OS builds or new models with newer OS. leaving behind the Not so old fully functioning phones. This has to change because in earlier days as passed the hardware upgradations are too fast. But it is now becoming Stagnant. So the Samsung team must upgrade their FOTA update policies according to this. If possible take a survey to update policy changes.
how many more update do you want for j7 prime ..it already got two major os upgrades..even flagship models like s7 and s7 edge which comes with flagship processor ..got 2 os upgrade ..so you wnna say j7 prime should get pie os and s7 should be left out ..and remeber cost is evolved in preparing a os for device ..its not free .. btw j7 pro will get pie update as mentioned in list ..post some silly things bro not just what u imagine .. !!
It is not only specific my owned device. But to all devices including devices you own. And as you mentioned S7 is an good example of this. So what is suggested that this policy must not continue form S8 versions, don't u think this must be rethinked !
@R.Kundu you must know that tye hardware performance of a device decline year by year ..i mean to say tht if j7 prime processor was 100% efficient at launch now in 2019 it must be around 60 to 70 %. Tht you must hve noticed by lag so now if it gets android pie it will not able to handle properly..and i personally think flagship should get 3 major os upgrade as lot of money is invested in it and its hardware is quite efficientto handle..and rest all model sould get 2 major os upgrade + 1 more year of security patches..
