No j7 max user's will not get any Android updates anymore.Because it is become old model and Now Samsung J series become A series.

For now there is no exception. You have to wait for that. Cause samsung is concerned more about the devices which are based on One UI . And J7 max is based on samsung experience. So. Don't expect pie update. But you can wait.
