You should first use an app like photopills and find the position where the milky way is intense. Then use a tripod and try using pro mode at iso 3200 and shutter speed 30. Don't forget to set a timer for 10 seconds. If you choose a place with a clear sky and less ambient light, your photo will be more effective.
