Samsung launched the Galaxy Fold, its most expensive and its first foldable phone, a few months ago in India. Now, in a few weeks from now, we may see the next foldable phone from the company likely to be called the Galaxy Z Flip. But that will not be the successor to the Galaxy Z Flip. Instead, Samsung is likely to launch another foldable phone in a few months from now, and this phone will be called the Galaxy Fold 2.

The Galaxy Z Flip is expected to be launched on February 11 at the company’s Unpacked event in San Francisco and it is expected to be cheaper than its predecessor Galaxy Fold. In a way, the Flip is going to be the "affordable" Samsung phone with the foldable screen. The other foldable phone Galaxy Fold 2 will be the top-end smartphone with a foldable screen from Samsung and rumours suggest that it will come with not only a 108-megapixel camera but also support for the S Pen, similar to what Samsung provides in the Note series devices.

The rumours note that the Fold 2 will support 5G and feature Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 865. The phone is likely to feature an 8-inch display and ultra-thin glass.

Elaborating on the camera, several reports stated that it might house an enviable 108-megapixel primary camera and an S Pen stylus. If the everything turns out to be true, the Samsung Galaxy Fold 2 will be the first non-Samsung Galaxy Note series phone to get the stylus support.

Before the Fold 2 arrives, the Galaxy Z Flip will use a clamshell design and will compete with Moto Razr, which too is a phone with a clamshell design and foldable screen. Rumours hint that the Flip will a 3,300mAh battery while the original Fold packs in a 4,380mAh battery.

The current Galaxy Fold is on sale in India at a price of Rs 164,999. It has a 7.3 inches AMOLED display. When folded, the users get a 4.6 inches outer screen which also has an OLED display. The device can be used as a tablet when unfolded and as a handy phone when folded. Despite being such a pricey device, the Samsung Galaxy Fold units were sold out in flat 30 minutes when the pre-bookings were open on the company’s online store in India.
