Water resistance will be retained if you visit the official Samsung Service Center. They add extra water resistant glue beneath the new display to keep that feature unaffected.

Yes I have replaced the display of a S8+ before. Just ask the Samsung representative to add extra glue. I sold the S8+, but it did pretty well after changing the display.
Don't worry, if it is an official service center, they normally add lots of glue.
