Try wipe off your fingerprint data, then register the same fingerprint twice ( your right thumb for example)

If you have an A-series uses optical based fingerprint sensors. If the area where you try to unlock is very bright or under the sun, it may affect the functionality. This is not a defect but a technology limitation. Try to hide the fingerprint scanner on an area with shade and test again.
