My Samsung M31s phone bought on 22/08/2020 has a screen discoloration problem. First it started off as a pink dot and in  week it has spread to about 30% of screen area and has progressively turned blue and black. At the customer care center, the service person said it is an impact damage and that he would take a service request.

So far neither the service center nor the customer care has been helpful and they are repeating the same ''Sorry maám but the damage is due to impact and the customer has to bear the repair charge'.

I can ASSURE that there has been no impact. Because it is AMOLED display, I have taken extra care to not handle it roughly. The phone does not have a single scratch/dent on it and there has definitely been no case of elbowing or pressuring the phone under any circumstances.

Furthermore, there was a little glue sticking out of the phone in the top left corner and when we showed it to the service representative, he just pulled it off and said it was not of any serious concern, taking a picture of it prior to taking it to the center just slipped off my mind.

The customer service was very poor and an apparent 'supervisor' just cut my call while I was speaking.

I have traditionally been using Motorola g series phone and this is my first Samsung experience and it has gone horrible bad.

They do not have any SOP for inspection and anything other than software base issues are declared as customer's fault.

The repair charge is almost 45% of what the phone costs and it is very frustrating to get such bland replies and being told that the warranty does not cover any real issues.

I am never again buying/recommending any Samsung products ever again.

If the service personal viewing this FURIOUS complain has anything other than 'sorry maám but the warranty doesn't cover impact damage' to say, please contact.

PS: now i see that there are several other complaints regarding this screen pink discoloration problem with Samsung M and A series! Certainly there has to be more than customer's fault.

a couple of times, yes. But from 2-3 feet distance. If that causes a damage that costs 8k then certainly they have not done physical tests before releasing such a product and these 'delicate babies' are not worth buying.

2 to 3 feet drops doesn't mean that there will be no damage. It depends on the angle at ehich it fell, it also depends on the surface it fell on. "Delicate babies". Well calm down first, them we will be able to help. Calm down. Tell me, did you use any type of cleaning fluid or sanitizer on your phone?

ok. the drop was from bed to floor. Prior to discoloration there was certainly no fall. About a week ago I noticed a tiny pink dot (like a pencil dot). By the next day it was growing fast.
No I have not used the cleaning fluid/sanitizer on the phone recently.

Yes, it starts from a dot and builds its way up until it kills the whole panel. As you said that you have dropped your phone a couple of times, that might be the cause. Multiple hits. And amoled and oled panels are really fragile, so...and if you think that its not because of that, then you should get a free display replacement.

Don't think a couple of 2-3 feet drops over 3 months couldn't cause such a damage. that has continuously been spreading.

Exactly, OLED and amoled panels are that fragile. Just a small point of damage, and the whole panel can die.
