Live focus is more targeted for portrait human shots similar to how we get creamy background blur with DSLR and their prime lenses. You need to just tap the live focus in Samsung camera app and aim your A50 camera at the person whose portrait shot you want to capture. I think A50 uses the zoom camera for portrait shots so you may need to step back a little to get the subject's face properly in camera frame. This mode also works for animals and other objects.
