How many of you like the rotating and pop up mechanism of A80. I request Samsung to launch its successor and plz consider A80 under 3 Major Android update policy. Its a 52k smartphone and still not considered under 3 update policy. Whereas A51 of 22k is considered under 3 update policy. This discrimination should not be done. 😡😡

yeah you are right. A80 should also get 3 update policy as it's a high end midrange device. Cost is also too high. The processor also supports Android 13 upgrade. So hope it will get 3 OS upgrades if they want to provide. Or if they are going on differentiate S series and A series because S series is flagship one. Then it's their problem

it's not the budget you are paying / paid / launched at,

it all depends on the series

A series - even if the phone is launched at 80k, still it won't be considered a flipship, it's called upper mid range device

S series - even that note 10 lite, s10 lite, s20 fe, may be under 50k or 40k, it's still considered as a flagship.

A80, may be at 50k, but it's an upper midrange device.

A80 might be the expensive A series, but the users of A80 are very less that makes Samsung to neglect the updates. Samsung focuses on the variants on which the users are more.

Example, A50 has the most users and the sales of A50 were at the maximum in A series, which makes it unique from the other A series. So, you can still see A50 under monthly security update list, which even the A80, A70, A70s, A50s or the latest A51 or A71 are also not there in the monthly security patch update list as they fall to quarterly security patch update list from the date of launch itself.

Under samsung policy, priority models are not based on the cost, it'll be based on the sales over that particular product.
