Does somebody know the purpose of the internal storage ( dual messenger) ?

It's where your dual messenger apps keep their data. Instead of occupying the normal internal storage, the apps data is stored and can be found there

Thanks, but if it's not stored in your phone, where does this space come from?

The space is a logical partition of your device's physical storage. It's the same storage, only that your phone and apps see it as another separate storage
