Screen recorder not showing up in A42?

I own the A42 and my mum owns the A71 I was comparing and noticed I don't have the screen recorder button but my mum does? Like why is this left out?? Or is this a bug? How can I get it on the a42? I can only see it appearing on the game bar when I play games. But I wanted to record something that's not a game.  Can anyone tell me why this isn't added on?? I would really love it on my A42 😭

I agree with you, Samsung should consider putting this feature back in the new phone because my wife has A71 and it has this feature. Even my current backup phone galaxy note 3 (2013 phone) has this feature.

Meanwhile we can use 3rd party app which might have more features than the built-in one.

@Alphazor007 For your information, Samsung Galaxy A series is considered a mid-range flagship phone by Samsung. My wife owns A71 since last year and I just bought a42 2 weeks ago. My wife's phone has this screen recorder and I  just realized today my a42 does not have this button to record video. That's strange. If you look at the performance from both phone, a42 has the same RAM and higher processor than A71. In term of hardware performance and networking, the a42 is superior than A71. The only thing that a42 lack of is camera rear resolution. I hope they put back this feature in Android 11 for a42 as there is no reason to remove it.

My previous comment was for the GCC region. A42 is a mid ranger ,but lately samsung enabled this feature exclusively from the flagship phone ranges ( S and Note ) . The A42 , outside the GCC, still has call and screen record functions.

I really want the screen recorder in A42. I bought A42 last month. Actually I think that A42 will have screen recorder soon because Android 11 provide screen recorder and A42 is confirmed will have Android 11 update. But when my A42 updated to Android 11 in this Monday, I feel so disappointed. I can't believe that Samsung didn't provide that function even it's in Android 11. I don't want to download the screen recorder from Google Play. 😔 I just want to use the official screen recorder provide in Android 11. It's simple and easy to use, also no need to put a watermark compulsorily.

Same. Just bought my mom the A42 5g and it doesn't have screen recording, and I have an older model samsung phone. Hope they add it soon.
